Sentencing Advocacy Program The mission of the Sentencing Advocacy Program is to increase the use of community-based social services and community corrections, assist in the development of sentencing plans that emphasize safe and productive community alternatives to incarceration and help families network with other social service providers.
The Sentencing Advocacy Program supports juveniles, adults, their families and victims early in the criminal justice process by providing resources that helps prepare structured sentencing plans for defense attorneys. This program trains university students to research and write sentencing plans, and arranges continuing legal education on sentencing advocacy and community alternatives.
